Planting Party, Phase I Public Safety, Wolf Creek Lanes

April 18 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Public Safety Project, Tillamook State Forest Wolf Creek Rd

Phase I:  Join us on Sunday, April 18th, as we work to improve public safety by planting trees and shrubs to provide a visual and physical block to the temptation of target shooting in an unsafe area at the Wolf Creek Shooting Lanes near Lane 3.  We will block the public access area beyond the day use/picnic area by minor grading of the small slope, contour the ground and plant native trees and shrubs in flat area and on slope.  The space is currently encouraging people to shoot in unsafe directions with inadequate and no backstop.

Volunteers are needed to help plant trees and shrubs.  Tractor work will be provided by a volunteer with equipment and ground will be prepared prior to planting event.

Lunch provided.  Bring shovels, rakes, gloves, boots and dress for the weather.  Also need 3-4 pickup loads of wood chips!!!
