Salute!
To BHA’s Armed Forces Initiative group for initiating this event!
The Armed Forces Initiative (AFI) is a Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) program focused on creating conservationists hosted by the military community.
Washington AFI and Washington Department of Natural Resources hosted a cleanup event at the “Stoner” target shooting site on the Elbe Hills State Forest, in the foothills of Mt Rainier. Trash No Land supported and attended this event.
Public land shooting ranges are critical to many of us as an economical way to maintain or learn new shooting skills. They are also often important to new hunters and shooters. Regularly cleaning public shooting areas ensure they will be available for continued use in the future and minimizes the impact on the environment.
On Saturday, May 31st, 2025, 12 volunteers joined to remove 100 bags of trash from the Stoner shooting pit. They worked diligently and were done before noon. High-Fives, Fist-Bumps, smiles and a well deserved lunch was enjoyed by all.
Trash bags and disposal provided by WA Dept of Natural Resources.
Volunteer Appreciation Lunch provided by Trash No Land.
Good times, good deeds and good people provided by WA AFI!
