Partners and volunteer teamwork! A winning combination!
A chilly start at the 3300 ft elevation, but 31 people came to Wildcat Mt Rd because they cared. They were ready and willing to do the necessary yard work of removing trash and graffiti off our public lands. And they did an awesome job!
There were 15 target shooting sites along Wildcat Mt Rd, and these 31 volunteers got 9 of them cleaned up. Six sites still remain, so please pack up some trash bags and help get them cleaned up. There is also some micro-trash at all 15 sites that needs removing.
Special thanks to our Partners in Stewardship;
AntFarm Youth, Sandy OR,
Junk Be Gone, Sandy, OR,
Oregon Backcountry Hunters & Anglers,
Les Schwab Tire Center, Sandy, OR,
Clackamas County Forestry,
USFS Mt Hood National Forest,
And all 31 great folks who came to show their respect for quality recreation on public lands.
The AntFarm Youth Crew performed magic on the boulders as they focused on removing graffiti. They were relentless as they scrubbed and pressure washed multiple times to get the layers of paint off. A fun group of young men! Hats off to you, Gentlemen!
Clackamas County Forestry sent Charlie and ‘Dumpy-the-Dump-Truck’ to help! Charlie formerly worked with Clackamas County Dumpstoppers and now works for the Forestry Department. Clackamas County also covered the disposal fees!
Les Schwab Tire Center, in Sandy, graciously received 7 tires we removed from the forest at no charge! Thank you!!!
And we all enjoyed bakery treats in the morning and a tasty lunch prepared by the AntFarm Cafe!
The Llamas were a surprise treat to see! They were on a training mission in preparation for family excursion outings. They loaded up with packs and hit the trails along with several other hikers out enjoying recreation on the Hood.
The photos tell the rest of the story.
We need, and appreciate, your support of our efforts to improve recreational target shooting on public lands! Thank you!
